Donations - old games
If you find that you have games that your family no longer uses and that you'd like to donate to the club, please bring them to Mr. Bulgrien's room or drop them off at the high-school office. They will be appreciated.
Donations - new games
And if you should decide that you'd like to help the club by buying something from our wish list, we would be very grateful for that as well.
Award-Winning Games
If you're looking for some great games, a good place to start is to find games that have already won awards. If you see one of these symbols on a game's box, you know that some "experts" think it is an excellent game.

There's even a Hall of Fame for board games. This is a good place to look for games that have stood the test of time.
BoardGameGeek.com
Board Game Geek (BGG) is a board game database where you can find information and opinions about every board game ever made.
TableTop (web series)
TableTop is a web-based show focused on board games. Wil Wheaton hosts it, and he plays a wide selection of games with different friends of his.
It's part tutorial, part comedy (part tragedy), and part reality show. Many of this club's games were discovered through this show.

Diplomacy
One of the most unique and best-selling games of all time is Diplomacy. Some call it "the game that ruined a thousand friendships."
Notable fans of the game include President John F. Kennedy, Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, authors Isaac Azimov and Ray Bradbury, journalist and anchorman Walter Cronkite, and many others. You can watch an explanation of the game here (roughly 22 minutes but quite thorough). Here's another option that includes some players' commentary and opinions (skip to 1:30 if you want to get right into it). You can play it for free here. |
Dungeons & Dragons
Perhaps the most influential game of all time is Dungeons & Dragons. Countless stories, books, TV shows, movies, and other games (including video games), were inspired by the original tabletop role-playing game (RPG).
You're sure to recognize the names of some famous people who play D&D. If you're brand new to the game, this 10-minute video does a decent job of explaining it and why people play it. |
